Little Painted Chair Project

I found myself as free as a bird last weekend, so amongst other things I set myself the little task of painting our dining room chairs. I am utterly in love with them and I just had to share them with you.

We have 4 wood chairs of two designs, I am a fan of mix and mach when it comes to home furnishings, I like to keep my colour palette fairly neutral and let designs and forms come together to give a sense of character without looking over cluttered.

After much deliberation over the different brands of paint in Homebase I decided to give Laura Ashley Eggshell a try, mainly because I was drawn to the packaging. (I am a sucker for well designed packaging)! I chose Duck Egg White and and Duck Egg Blue from their extensive colour range. All though the colour looks pale in the tin it dries a shade darker but, in my opinion, was true enough to the colour swatch in store and I think it looks fab.

Previously I have always stuck to chalk paint simply because no prep work is needed at all and you are almost always guaranteed an even result. But I can not stand the chalk texture. I found the Laura Ashley Eggshell paint simple to apply after I had prepped and undercoated the chairs and I only needed to apply two coats. The finish is great and smooth to touch :)

I still have half a tin left and I'm already planning my next project.
