Gathered Style: Autumn

Home on a cozy afternoon after an autumn walk is one of the things that really warms my heart at this time of the year. Nothing says autumn more than gathered style, foraged from nature, seasonal scented candles and a mug of tea. I thought I would share a little corner of my home with you, inspired by the season, transformed by nature.

Recently we went for a little walk around Dunham Massy, a country house and deer park in Cheshire. It was a beautiful crisp autumn morning, the leaves crunched beneath our feet as we gathered fallen foliage to take home with us. The deer at the park were so tame they didn't mind us getting up close and taking their pictures. Aren't they beautiful creatures?

When we got home I enjoyed styling this little corner of our living room. I have used a rustic wooden tray to display my candles, fir cones and treasures gathered from our walk. I have also hung a wicker wreath decorated with ribbon and popped some dried hydrangea heads in a zinc vase. I love the subtle natural colour scheme of this little corner, perfect for a relaxing weekend at home.

Do you like to style your home according to the season? Let me know what you like to do, I'd love to hear from you.Have a great week, Laura.
